The small local school with the big local reputation. . .

The theory test is made up of two parts; the multiple choice part and the hazard perception part.  You need to pass both parts to pass the theory test.  Both parts are taken on the same day.

The multiple choice part is delivered using a touch screen computer and the hazard perception part records your responses through the use of a computer mouse button.

If you pass one part and fail the other you'll fail the whole test, and you'll need to take both parts again.

Please be aware that there are a number of websites which give the impression of being the official theory test website.  These sites will charge you extra to book your theory test.  Please ensure you are not being ripped off!  This link will take you to the official site.

Please note that we are not responsible for content on other websites.

You can practise your Theory Test online, free of charge, using the link below.

For information on buying The Highway Code and Theory Test resources use this link and click on the DSA button.

Although we believe every driver should have a Highway Code the following link might be useful until you get your copy.

We believe that part of our responsibility to learner drivers is to guide them through the Theory Test.  Once you begin your practical lessons with Ignition we will guide you towards the Theory Test.  We provide help and will give you Mock Theory Tests which can be taken home and completed between lessons.  This way we find that most of our pupils pass their Theory Test on the first attempt which obviously saves both disappointment and money!

To assist you with preparing for the Theory Test we recommend that you have a copy of The Highway Code (every motorist should have one), a Theory Book or CD Rom, and a Hazard Perception CD Rom.
